--Roberto Saviano
In 2006, he was told he would have to be under guard for a few weeks. But that day, Roberto Saviano's life was forever changed. This is the story of a survivor that refuses to surrender.
"Here is the story of a resistance undertaken with words as sole firepower and within the perimeter of one's own body, on the basis that in any fight you learn but one single rule. It is this: it isn't true that you either come back alive from battle or you don't come back at all. In the event you come back, you'll be hurt. What you are about to read is my wound."
I'm Still Alive is a unique book, an unprecedented collaboration between two magnificent storytellers. It is an intimate and brutal account of the last fifteen years in the life of Roberto Saviano, who has been forced to live clandestinely after receiving a death threat by the Camorra. His words converse with the flowing and symbolic strokes of Asaf Hanuka's art, they remind us of those days of long-lost freedom, of a boy, passionate about comics, who enjoyed playing with his brother, now transformed into a claustrophobic, the price he must pay for speaking out, forced to live constantly surrounded by bodyguards. It is the life of a wounded man who keeps on fighting.
