Hello, Moon! Follow along with the lunar phase cycle as Gaby fills her plate (and belly!) with foods that match the shape of the moon she sees in the sky. From a crescent to a gibbous guava, the food shapes wax and wane as the month goes on, just like lunar phases.

Author Biography

Delia Ruiz ha escrito varios libros infantiles, entre ellos, Las maneras en que papi dice te quiero, la serie de libros de cartón ¡123 Baila! y Roqui's Pandero Beat, ganador de un International Latino Book Award. Reside en Puerto Rico con su esposo, su bebé y su perrito. Delia espera inspirar a la próxima generación de escritores de hogares de inmigrantes.

Delia Ruiz is the author of several children's books, including Ways Papi Says I Love You, the ¡123 Baila! board book series, and Roqui's Pandero Beat, an International Latino Book award-winner. She currently resides in Puerto Rico with her husband, baby boy, and pug. Delia hopes to inspire the next ​generation of writers who also come from immigrant households.

Nomar Perez es autor e ilustrador originario de la hermosa isla de Puerto Rico. Recibió el Premio Pura Belpré de Autor e Ilustrador por su libro ilustrado De aquí como el coquí. Tras abandonar su patria a los diez años, Nomar entró en contacto con todo tipo de medios, como la animación, las marionetas y el arte digital. Estudió en la Bowling Green State University en Ohio y desde entonces ha trabajado como ilustrador y diseñador.

Nomar Perez is an author-illustrator originally from the beautiful island of Puerto Rico. He is the winner of the Pura Belpre Honor for Author and Illustrator for his picture book Coquí in the City. After leaving his homeland at the age of ten, Nomar found himself in touch with all types of media, including animation, puppetry, and computer art. He studied at Bowling Green State University in Ohio, and since then has worked as an illustrator and designer.
